Kentucky Birthday
I remember this night. It was the only meal I remember eating at my Aunt Dixie's house.
I remember Dad telling us to watch Dixie because she reminded him so much of his Mother when He was a boy.
I also remember that we had brussel sprouts that night and I think that was the first time I had seen these little cabbage looking things.
Dad and the cousins took us out to the garden and showed us them growing there.
The garden prompted Dad to tell me that they had found me under a cabbage leaf in the garden, and that they had brought me in and cleaned me up and decided to keep me.
This concerned me because I had also been told that they found me in a pile of manure in a barn lot, took me in and cleaned me up and decided to keep me.
I pretty sure I was also told that a stork brought me as well but I remember picking my little brother Chad up at the hospital.
He has been dirty ever since. So I think that the dirtier the environment you were found in the cleaner you will be an the opposite applies to being found in a clean environment.
It seems that there are various ways to find children but I am just glad they cleaned me up and kept me.
It looks like it was Brenda's birthday that night to.

Megan
My daughter graduated high school this last week.
Man time flies.
Here is a video of her that we showed at her open house.
I loaded all the pictures she took this last year to make a movie but it was going to be a 10 minute movie so I just took ones where she posed with someone.
If you would like more details and pictures click HERE.
Love you Megan!!

Mow the Dandelions Snow
1978 brought Dad a riding lawn mower.
Here it is brand spanking new.
The first time I mowed with it I ran over a hammock that was laying in the yard.
I looked at it and thought the mower deck would clear it. It did but the amazing vacuum blade action sucked up the hammock into the blades. Oops.
I know it also mowed over downspouts, crawdad mounds, trees of various sizes. sticks, baseballs, golf balls and an action figure.
Oh I almost forgot it also mowed millions of dandelions.

Aunt Lorey
Here is a slide I found of my Aunt Lorey.
She married my Mom's brother Myron. I think I saw some slides of the wedding in the box too so you will see some of those slides sometime soon.
I don't know where this is but the grill looks brand new and Lorey looks just like her daughter Katie. Or should that be the other way around?

More Jack
I found another picture of Uncle Jack and Aunt Connie at the baby shower that was held at my parents house.
I also found a picture of who I believe to be Uncle Jacks son, my cousin, Mark.
The slide says 1973 on it.
I remember he stayed with my Uncle George for a while and they both tormented each other during his whole visit.
Uncle George says he woke up one morning to see Mark running around his fields waving a rebel flag and yelling.
The next day when Mark woke up Uncle George was standing over him snapping scissors next to his head. George says Mark jumped up ran towards a mirror yelling "My hair! You didn't cut my hair!"
Uncle George didn't cut his hair but he sure laughed a lot telling the story about it.
