Me and My Parents

That is me with my Dad back in 1965.
I tried to think real hard but I just can't remember this trip.
Looks like we were fishing or swimming maybe.

Whoa! That is me with my Mother and we all are truly are experiencing What My Dad Saw.

I need to go scrub my eyeballs with a wire brush now.

Brett 1968

I assume that this is a birthday present that Brett in enjoying.
A practical toy for a kid. A car that holds your wooden blocks.
The more I think about it Brett sort of does that for a living.
He doesn't drive a truck but quotes on how many blocks it will take people to build stuff.
I wonder if he wore this outfit to work to day?
Notice the I am a true first born and made sure that I got into the picture.

Here he got the people form Extreme Home Makeover some supplies.
Brett is in the middle.

One of Brett's coworkers.

The Construction that Brett worked on.

I haven't seen the episode but I have heard some stories from Brett's experience.
Maybe he will share some in the comments.

He told me it was rainy and he enjoyed the donuts so much he took a picture of them.

Slide

Chad and I playing on a slide in 1974.
I think I see Brett in the back ground wearing his number 32 shirt.

Looking at this slide reminded me of the joys of a good slide.

• It seemed a slide was more fun when you would climb up it any other way other than the ladder.
• I remember that it was rare for me to get a good slide run, I always seemed to stick to the slide and just creep down it.
• Remember slide burns?
• How about having to jump at the end of the slide to miss the puddle or mud that was always there?
• How about holding onto the support bars and then walking up the bottom of the slide and then flipping over?
• Group slides where three or four of your friends would stack together behind you and you all slid down all at once?
• A good slide had a bar over the starting point where you could swing back and forth to build up speed before you launched down the slide.
• Proving how cool and fast you were by being able to run up the slide without grabbing the edge on the way up.

Watermelon

Chad enjoying a piece of watermelon in 1974.

His shirt says "Come on...be a good egg".

I think this was taken at Uncle Georges house.

Baywatch 1978

Mom and her three little sea monkeys.

We were such water dogs.
Back then though a fiberglass slide into the pool was about as wild as it got.

Spent the day Monday at an amusement park with my little sea monkeys.
We road our first watercoaster and we loved it. Nice that it was the worlds longest too.

Fun day.

Family Ties

When I saw this slide I thought of the puny title for it, Family Ties.

Then I remembered the show, Family Ties, and thought "Yeah that fits pretty good. Alex always had a tie on in that show".

I could almost picture him in our group photo.

Brett's Bear Hunt

Here are the results of Brett's bear hunt that he won.

I mentioned it HERE
He showed me a map of where he landed and where they drove too.

I think he said that it was a 6 or 7 hour drive on a pretty beat up road from the airport.

Notice where the road ends. This is where they have to hire ice truckers for the rest of the northern world.

•••••••••••

He had some neat videos and funny stories too.
I hope he leaves something in the comments for us.

I know he met the Red Wings coach on the plane but that is all I have time to write right now.

When we know when his episode will air I will post times and channels.

He did get the honor of being the first one to kill a bear with a new broad-head.

They posted his picture HERE

Some pictures might be gruesome!

I did learn this.
If you hike in Canada do not take trail mix with you. That is what they used for bait to bring the bears in.
